The CS42438 CODEC provides six multi-bit analog-to-digitaland eight multi-bit digital-to-analog Delta-sigmaconverters. The CODEC is capable of operation with eitherdifferential or single-ended inputs and outputs, in a 52-pinMQFP package.Six fully differential, or single-ended, inputs are available onstereo ADC1, ADC2, and ADC3. When operating in SingleendedMode, an internal MUX before ADC3 allows selectionfrom up to four single-ended inputs. Digital volumecontrol is provided for each ADC channel, with selectableoverflow detection.All eight DAC channels provide digital volume control andcan operate with differential or single-ended outputs.An auxiliary serial input is available for an additional twochannels of PCM data.The CS42438 is ideal for audio systems requiring wide dynamicrange, negligible distortion and low noise, such asA/V receivers, DVD receivers, and automotive audiosystems.
